Agility and software architecture:
Opposites that attract and go hand in hand.

At first glance you might think that agility and architecture work are mutually contradictory. Agile development methods are aimed at making the software flexible and adaptable, whereas the architecture is intended to provide the software with a long-term, solid structure. If, however, one combines these two development methods, the result is a win-win situation for all involved parties: Agile software architecture.

Working effectively in agile teams and projects with Scrum and Lean.

This iSAQB-certified software architecture training module provides the participants with the tools and innovative skills necessary for designing and further developing software systems and architectures using agile development methods. In terms of the objective, the trainers assume different perspectives: On the one hand it’s a case of applying the concept of agile software development to architecture work. On the other hand, it’s a case of expediently embedding architectural practices in agile methods. Central topics of the training module are the agile procedure models Scrum and Lean. With the aid of several realistic examples of agile architecture work, the participants learn that agility and architecture work don’t have to hinder each other, and that with goal orientation and active teamwork they can excellently complement each other.

Contents

  • Basics of agile software architecture
  • Agile architecture approach
  • Architecture requirements in agile projects
  • Designing and developing architectures in a team
  • Reflection and feedback on architectural work in an agile context
  • Examples of agile architecture work
