Credit points for CPSA-A certification

The advanced training program deepens your knowledge in the competence areas of methodology, technology and communication. In various modules you can collect the 70 credit points required for the Certified Professional for Software Architecture – Advanced Level (CPSA-A®) examination. Certification at Advanced Level requires prior completion of the Foundation Level. Even for software architects who do not strive for certification, all Advanced Level modules are of great value for daily work.

Flexible architecture models:
Manageable, adaptable and independent.

Flexible software architectures have the advantage that they can be adapted to possible or future developments with little effort and can be optimized based on different quality goals. This is achieved through so-called microservices, DevOps and self-contained systems. The decoupled module components and the independent deployment of the microservices are the decisive factors that make the software architecture not only particularly adaptable, but above all very effective and cost-effective. Self-Contained Systems also act in a very similar way. Thanks to the minimized coordination effort and the greater scope for development, agile development models can be optimally supported. DevOps, on the other hand, represent a process improvement approach between software development and operation, with the help of which the quality of the software, the speed of development and commissioning as well as the teamwork are improved enormously.

This iSAQB CPSA Advanced Level training provides the necessary tools and innovative skills to create flexible architectures that allow quick deployment and thus quick feedback from the use of the system. Furthermore, the FLEX training should convey the essential drivers for the architecture types, the consequences that the drivers have for the architectures and clarify the interaction of the architectures with organization, processes and technologies.

Your Trainer

Sönke Schwenk

For more than 15 years Sönke Schwenk has been supporting teams and software projects in industry and trade in the design and implementation of software architectures and therefore knows: software architecture must fit like a good pair of shoes. His heart beats clearly for agility, clean code and software craftsmanship. Over the years, he has worked on projects such as merchandise management systems, test systems and software for medical devices. His current focus: Renovation of software systems and practical, agile living of software architecture in teams.

Michael König

Michael König has been a passionate developer and software architect for over 20 years. During his career, he accompanied a large number of projects of all sizes (team size 5-500 employees) and can therefore draw on extensive practical experience. His professional focus now lies on the area of lightweight microservice architectures and cloud-native solutions, primarily implemented within the AWS cloud environment with the languages Java, Kotlin and Groovy.

Mahbouba Gharbi

As a software architect, coach and trainer, Mahbouba Gharbi has been advising major clients on the planning and implementation of demanding IT projects for over 20 years. She deals with the conception and implementation of medium to large software systems. In addition to her work as managing director and chief architect of ITech Progress, she is co-founder and chairwoman of the board of iSAQB e.V. and actively participates in designing curricula and exams.

Holger Tiemeyer

Responsibility, pragmatism, pride (in a person’s own work), domain expertise and most importantly: professionalism are fundamental values and attributes that characterize a software architect. Holger Tiemeyer teaches these skills and related knowledge based on many years of experience in his trainings and speaks at conferences and publications in professional magazines. He imparts profound, technical knowledge about software architecture in various industries and contexts. He is a member of iSAQB e. V. who leads the working group of universities.
