AI4SWARC – AI As A Tool In The Architectural Process

Use of AI as an assistant system for architects.

Format: Online Training
Duration: 2 days

AI as a tool in the architectural process

AI4SWARC is a newly developed training course on the use of AI as a tool in the architectural process. The focus is on how AI-based tools can provide concrete support in everyday architectural work, from requirements analysis and decision-making to documentation. The AI4SWARC module addresses the use of artificial intelligence as a tool to support the architectural process – in contrast to the SWARC4AI module, which treats AI as a component of the target architecture. The aim of the module is to enable architects and technical management personnel to use generative AI and other AI technologies in a targeted manner to make analysis, design, decision-making and documentation tasks in everyday architectural practice more efficient and of higher quality. And to show how architectural work can be rethought with today’s developments in the field of AI. Participants will receive guidance on how architectural work can be rethought considering current developments in the field of AI, including risks, traceability, and ethical and regulatory guidelines.

What can you expect?

You will gain a practical understanding of how AI-supported analyses and decision-making aids can be used in the architectural process.
One of the focal points is generative AI for architectural documentation, for example for ADRs, models and reviews.
It also covers prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and automation ideas, along with the responsible management of risks, traceability, ethics, and regulatory requirements.
Prerequisites for Participants
E
A solid understanding of software architecture, including the typical analysis, design, decision-making, and documentation tasks encountered in everyday architecture work.
E
Hands-on relevance for requirements analysis and solution design, architecture documentation (e.g., ADRs), as well as review and communication scenarios in project settings.
E
A willingness to use AI as a tool in the process and to critically assess results in terms of risks and traceability.

Your Added Value

E
You can classify AI as an assistive system in the architecture process and use it effectively in a targeted way.
E
You build confidence in using AI-supported analysis and decision support in everyday architecture work.
E
You learn how generative AI can support documentation tasks and review scenarios.
E
You receive practical guidance on prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and automation in the architecture context.
E
You improve traceability and risk handling in AI-supported work.
E
You know the key ethical and regulatory guardrails for applying AI in everyday project work.
