Communicate Architecture Effectively for Your Target Audience and Document It Efficiently
Stay in control even in complex projects.
During the training, you will learn how to document software architectures effectively, tailor documentation to specific target audiences, evaluate it, and communicate it clearly. In addition to technical aspects, the training also covers the essential organizational and social factors of architecture documentation.
Sustainable Architecture Documentation
The importance of good architecture documentation is often underestimated in new IT projects. However, documenting the software architecture plays a crucial role in making developments and changes throughout the project traceable and understandable.
It also supports communication within the project team as well as with customers and partners. This also makes designing the software system easier.
What Can You Expect?
In the “ADOC” module of the iSAQB Advanced Level, you will learn through practical exercises how to create and optimize architecture documentation and ensure its quality.
You will gain knowledge of notations, tools, and methods for documenting architectural decisions and quality requirements and learn how to select appropriate tools.
By the end of the training, you will be able to create architecture documentation for medium-sized to large IT systems.
Prerequisites for Participants
- You should have basic knowledge from CPSA-F, such as architectural views, design decisions, and constraints.
- Ideally, you already have experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
- You have a basic understanding of typical challenges such as selecting notations and integrating tools.
- Experience collaborating on documentation is an advantage.
- Knowledge of versioning and documentation processes will make it easier for you to get started.
Technical Requirements
There are no special requirements for the training environment, as the exercises use cloud-based and web-based tools such as Miro, Draw.io, and platforms such as Jupyter or HuggingFace. All that is required is a stable and sufficiently fast internet connection.
Your Added Value
You will learn how to systematically create and evaluate architecture documentation and develop it further for specific target audiences.
Document Systematically
You will learn how to document software architectures systematically.
Improve Documentation
You will be able to evaluate existing documentation and improve it in a targeted way.
Consider Target Audiences
You will take different needs into account and adapt the documentation accordingly.
Tools & Templates
You will use tools and templates such as arc42 and C4 for efficient documentation.
Practical Techniques
You will receive practical examples and techniques for addressing real-world challenges.
Improve Quality
You will use reviews and feedback to improve documentation quality.

Our Trainers
Experienced trainers guide you through the ADOC training with a strong practical focus and teach the key concepts of architecture documentation, target-audience-oriented communication, and sustainable software architectures.
Our TrainersFeedback from the Training
What was particularly helpful for me was learning not to view architecture documentation merely as an obligation, but as a tool for making decisions transparent, understandable, and usable in the long term.
— Participant feedback on the ADOC training
My main takeaway is how important it is to adapt architecture content to different target audiences. The combination of documentation and clear communication was particularly valuable for my day-to-day work.
— Participant feedback on the ADOC training
The practical methods and tools showed me how architecture documentation can be created in a more structured way, reviewed systematically, and developed efficiently in everyday project work.
